At High Country Angus Farms:
We are a small family-operated farm located in the countryside of Locust, NC.
How it started: We purchased our dream farm in 2020 with the goal of raising our family to live off the land. Our dreams came to a halt when COVID hit our community; grocery store shelves became empty, and local farmers came to the rescue. We wanted to join farmers in providing the community healthy beef free from hormones and antibiotics.
Through several obstacles and learning curves, we became USDA Certified and began selling our beef locally. Our next goal: expand our customer base to online ordering for any local or long distance customers.

How we raise our cattle: Our cattle spends their lifetime on pasture. During winter months they feed on quality hay which was grown locally over the summer months. We keep their days as stress-free as possible and treat them with passionate care. Before processing, they get grain along with pasture/hay to promote the delicious marbling desired for your beef. They are never given hormones and never processed with preservatives.
